Poem for Haiti

Haiti got wrecked by a large earthquake.
The worlds nations have shared in its heartbreak.
We have a responsibility to help them heal and rebuild
The homes and the scars of those who were killed.
So help us help Haiti with all of your might
And together, step by step, we can make the world right.

Hungry children that are cold and alone
Need more than food, they need a home.
In their country they have little to live and strive for
But in America they will have opportunities and more.
Things we can do to help would be to sponsor or adopt,
Volunteer and make sure their suffering is stopped.

Many people were effected by this devastation
And in many cases it brought together more than our nation.
The people of the world are lending a hand
To see to it that these people can rebuild their land.
They have little left, yet they still hope and pray
For the kindness of strangers to help bring about a better day.
